PROJECT 2007

DRIVE FOR THE HOMELESS

PROJECT PLASE

Baltimore, MD

On December 15, 2007, Precious Elliott and Joetta Dennis in collaboration with Nowu Nagbe of Ascend International orchestrated a charitable drive to help meet the needs of homeless clients at Project Plase. We also give special thanks to Rob and Jennifer Schiller who also donated items for this drive.

Project PLASE, Inc. addresses homelessness by providing transitional housing, permanent housing and supportive services to homeless adults.

Project PLASE always needs hygiene kits that include a new toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, a new towel and deoderant for their clients. Dried and canned foods, dishes, pots, pans and packs of new underwear are always in great demand.

Our donations included: Clothing for women and men, 20 hygiene kits, a CD player stereo, dishes, pots and pans, bath and body products and an inventory of handmade beaded jewelry to be sold at annual fundraiser.

Learn more about Project Plase and donate your money, needed items or your time to their cause at www.projectplase.org. PLASE is an acronym for People Lacking Ample Shelter And Employment. They are located at 1814 Maryland Ave. Baltimore, MD 21201

Each night in Baltimore there are between 3,000 and 5,000 men, women, and children in need of shelter. At least half of the homeless people in Baltimore are addicted to alcohol or drugs. About one-quarter suffer from mental illness. And life on the streets causes a much higher incidence of physical ailments among the homeless than seen

in the population as a whole.
