BREATHING EARTH AND LUNAR BREATH
Focused rhythmic breathing is a major component for maintaining the health and well-being of your mind, body temple and spirit as well as an essential key used in the spiritual practice of yoga (union) and meditation.
In order to align yourself more with the lunar cycles and the earth’s breath, you can harmonize your own breathing to the 11 – 3 – 11 – 4 sequences that the moon cycles follow. You can use this rhythmic breath during your mirror gazing, lunar prayers, womb meditation and all focus and awareness rituals.
Slowly and fully extending your belly while taking in each full breath during the yin inhalation and slowly and deeply draw your belly all the way in on each yang exhalation allowing yourself to experience the full expansion and contraction of your nature.
Begin by inhaling through your nose to the count of 1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and pause 2, 3, exhale through your nose to the count of 11, pause 2, 3, 4 and breath to the count of 11, pause 2, 3, and breath. Allow yourself to feel the earth and moon rhythms pulsating throughout every cell within your body temple. Continue this breath for at least five to ten minutes before returning to your normal breathing pattern.
