Who is the Great Mother/Divine Feminine?

When our Great Mother decides to take form she is perceived in countless ways:

• Our Universal Great Mother is called by many names on this Earth plane. She is called Madre Mater, Jaganmata, Inanna, Astarte, Ishtar, Asherah, Bridget, Sophia, Spider Woman, Nut, Virgin Mary, Demeter, Izanami, Coatlicue, Nokomis, Papa. Life will not exist without her.

• Our Universal Great Mother brings joy and happiness to her children, providing them with music, art, laughter, and the ecstasy that comes from wakening her full power during intimacy. Love would not exist without her. In this aspect of her divine character she is known as Uma, Hathor or Het Heru , Aphrodite, Shekinah, Venus, Benten, Freya, Bastet, Xochiquetzal, Rati, Priti, Kwan Yin, Chang O, Oshun, Shakti, Sarasati, Uzume, Erzulie

• Great Mama is our Divine Nurturer. Our lives are sustained by the milk from her divine breasts. Life would not flourish and grow without her. On Earth, this aspect of her divine nature is known as Mother Earth, Vesta, Persephone, Artemis, Diana, Selu, Frigg, Pachama, Lakshmi, Gauri. Mother Earth is the one who provides nourishment for humanity. For example, one can envision the Earth’s soil as feminine and the sky’s rain as masculine and the green grass and fruits of the earth as divine children produced from cosmic sexual union between Earth and Sky.

• Our Mama is also our protector and provides the opportunity for rebirth. She destroys to rebuild and protects her little ones through the whole process. This aspect of her divine Self is Oya, Uatchet, Kali, Durga, Nemesis, Nike and Medusa.

• Lastly, Mama possesses all the wisdom of the universe and uses it to govern the Earth with justice and fairness. Life would be brutal and chaotic without her. Her name is Auset, Yemaya, Isis, Athena, Lady Liberty, Maat, and Brigid.

Mother is the divine womb. Father is the divine seed. Praise Be To God Our Father! Praise Be To God Our Mother! Amen.
