TOUCH THERAPIES
Touch Therapies include healing modalities that soothe and align the muscular and skeletal systems and the human energy field. These modalities include:
Acupressure and Acupuncture Therapy
Acupressure and acupuncture are ancient healing arts that use the fingers or needles to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities.
Body Manipulation Therapy
Chiropractic and Osteopathy are health care disciplines that emphasize diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine.
Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy is a holistic procedure that affects all systems of the body; digestive, elimination, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic, endocrine and nervous systems. It is accomplished through specific manipulations with the hands on the soft tissue of the body for therapeutic effect.
Reflexology Therapy
Reflexology is the physical act of applying pressure to the feet and hand with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands with a premise that such work effects a physical change to the body.
Therapeutic Touch
Therapeutic Touch is a laying-on-of-hands technique that doesn't actually touch the body but touches the energy field around it. It was developed in the 1970s by Dolores Krieger, a nurse and professor at New York University.
